Probably the only theatre group within the East Yorkshire area offering free training in singing, dancing and stage skills, SMT-KIDS performed its first show, Oliver, in front of sell out audiences in October 2010.

Sponsorship by Andrew Douglas of Douglas Waste Management has provided T shirts and sweat shirts for the children, and these are worn at all rehearsals which take place on Saturday for two hours at Spotlight, under the supervision of  Mark Howley and at least one other adult.
